Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (hereinafter referred to as "these Terms") set forth the conditions for using Chexif (hereinafter referred to as "the Service"). Please read these Terms carefully before using the Service. By using the Service, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

Article 1

Overview of the Service

The Service is a web application that visually composites EXIF information (camera equipment, shooting settings, etc.) onto photos uploaded by users and exports them as new images.

Article 2

Eligibility

The Service is available to those who meet the following conditions:

  • Persons aged 13 or older (parental consent is required for those under 13)
  • Persons who have agreed to these Terms
  • Persons who have not been previously prohibited from using the Service

Article 3

Accounts and Authentication

Account registration is required to use certain features (such as image export and premium features). Please provide accurate information when registering your account. You are responsible for managing your account credentials (email address and password).

If you discover any unauthorized use of your account, please contact the Service immediately.

Article 4

Pricing Plans and Payments

The Service offers a free plan and paid plans (Lite and Premium).

  • Pricing for paid plans is listed on the separate pricing page
  • Payments are processed via credit card through Stripe
  • Monthly plans are automatically renewed each month
  • You may cancel at any time, and paid features remain available until the next renewal date after cancellation
  • As a general rule, fees already paid are non-refundable. However, individual cases will be addressed if caused by a critical issue with the Service

Article 5

Handling of Uploaded Content

Content uploaded to the Service is handled differently depending on its type.

Photos for EXIF frame compositing

  • Photos are sent to the server for EXIF compositing processing but are immediately deleted after processing is complete
  • Photos are not stored on the server
  • Photos are not provided to, sold to, or disclosed to any third party
  • Photos are not used as training data for machine learning or AI

Logo images, template thumbnails, and profile icons

  • These are stored on the server as they are necessary to provide service features (branding, template saving, profile display)
  • These are deleted when the account is deleted
  • These are not provided to, sold to, or disclosed to any third party

Article 6

Prohibited Activities

Users shall not engage in the following activities:

  • Uploading content that infringes on the copyrights, portrait rights, or privacy of third parties
  • Uploading illegal content (such as child sexual abuse material)
  • Interfering with the operation of the Service (excessive requests, unauthorized access, etc.)
  • Reverse engineering or decompiling the Service
  • Impersonating other users
  • Any other actions that violate these Terms

Article 7

Intellectual Property Rights

Intellectual property rights to the Service's design, code, logos, and other elements belong to the operator. Copyright of images uploaded by users belongs to the user (or the original copyright holder), and the Service does not acquire any such rights.

Article 8

Disclaimer

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" basis. The operator shall not be liable for the following:

  • Interruption, suspension, or loss of data related to the Service
  • Any damages arising from the use of the Service (whether direct or indirect)
  • Issues caused by third-party services (such as Stripe or Supabase)

Article 9

Changes to or Termination of the Service

The operator may, upon prior notice to users, modify the content of the Service, add or remove features, or terminate the Service. However, in cases of emergency, changes or suspension may occur without prior notice.

Article 10

Changes to These Terms

The operator may modify these Terms. Users will be notified of significant changes through announcements on the Service or by email. If you continue to use the Service after changes have been made, you are deemed to have agreed to the revised Terms.

Article 11

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Japan, and any disputes relating to the Service shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Japan.
