Basic Usage
How do I use Chexif?
Simply visit app.chexif.com and drop your photos that contain EXIF data. Chexif automatically reads camera model, lens, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and more to generate EXIF frames. No installation required — it works entirely in your browser.
Do I need to create an account?
Yes. An account is required to use Chexif. You can sign up for free with your email address.
Can I use Chexif on my smartphone or tablet?
Yes. Chexif works on any device with a modern browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.), including smartphones and tablets. However, some features are more comfortable to use on a PC.
Can I use the generated images on social media?
Yes. Images generated with Chexif can be posted on Instagram, X (Twitter), Flickr, and other social media platforms, and may be used for personal or commercial purposes. Please refer to our Terms of Service for details.
Files & EXIF Data
What file formats are supported?
Chexif primarily supports JPEG (JPG) and other major image formats that contain embedded EXIF data. Support for RAW files (various manufacturer formats) and HEIC depends on your browser. JPEG files provide the most reliable results.
What should I do if EXIF data cannot be read?
EXIF data may be stripped when uploading to social media or saving with image editing software. Please check the following:
- Use the original file exported directly from your camera
- When exporting from Lightroom or Capture One, enable the "Include metadata" option
- Images downloaded from social media may have had their EXIF data removed
Even if EXIF data cannot be read, you can manually enter camera information to generate a frame.
Can I process multiple images at once?
Yes. All plans support batch processing of multiple images and ZIP downloads. The monthly export limit is 15 images for Free, 30 for Light, and unlimited for Premium.
Privacy & Security
Are uploaded images stored on the server?
No. Uploaded images are temporarily sent to the server only for EXIF frame compositing and are immediately deleted after processing. Images are never stored or accumulated. We do not share images with third parties or use them for AI training. For more details, please see our Privacy Policy.
How is my personal information managed?
We use Supabase for user authentication and account management, and Stripe for payment processing. Credit card numbers and other payment information are never stored on Chexif's servers — they are securely managed by Stripe. We employ standard security measures including HTTPS encryption and password hashing.
Pricing & Plans
What is the difference between the free and paid plans?
The free plan includes basic EXIF frame generation. Paid plans add the following features:
- Unlimited monthly exports
- Approximately 8x faster exports
- 4K / 8K high-resolution exports
- Remove credit watermark
- Add custom logos and watermarks
- Advanced font and color customization
Why are exports faster on the Premium plan?
Chexif's image compositing is performed in your browser. On Free and Light plans, a credit watermark is added server-side during export. The Premium plan does not require a credit watermark, so this server communication is skipped and exports are completed entirely within the browser. By eliminating the server round-trip, exports are approximately 8x faster.
Can I cancel or get a refund?
You can cancel your subscription at any time. After cancellation, you will continue to have access to paid features until the end of your current billing period. For details on our refund policy, please see the Specified Commercial Transactions Act Disclosure.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept credit cards including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and JCB. All payments are securely processed through Stripe.
